Healthy Skin Month

Having healthy skin is essential for everyone, no matter our age or gender. This month is National Healthy Skin Month; as such, we have dedicated this post to help you develop and maintain healthy skin. Healthy skincare practices help to slow aging appearance and prevent various skin problems. The tips below can be practiced by everyone; let’s take care of the skin that takes care of us.

Limit bath or shower time when using hot water and avoid using strong soaps because they remove natural protective and moisturizing oils from your skin.

Use caution when shaving; apply shaving cream, gel, or lotion before shaving, and be sure to use a clean new razor to shave in the direction that the hair grows, not against it.

Keep skin moist if dry by using a moisturizer for your skin type, which contains sun protection factor (SPF).

Protect your skin from the sun because repeated exposure to the sun can cause age spots and other skin problems while increasing the risk of skin cancer. You can protect your skin by using sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15, wearing protective clothing, and staying out of the sun when possible.

Eat Healthily; try to consume a lot of vegetables, whole grains, fruits, and water. Studies have shown a connection between diet and younger-looking skin.

Quit Smoking, as it contributes to wrinkles that cause the skin to look older. Smoking affects the flow of blood and the blood vessels, which in turn allows the skin to become pale while exhausting the oxygen and nutrients within the blood.

Reduce Stress:  persons tend to have breakouts and severe acne problems when they face stress that is left unmanaged and uncontrolled. Try to decrease your workload and get adequate rest; these measures will help to reduce the feeling of being overwhelmed that contributes to stress.

Exercise Regularly: exercise will generate sweat, which is conducive to the promotion of healthy skin because when we sweat, it cleans the pores in your skin. Also, exercising improves blood flow and is great for enhancing the appearance of the skin.

Let us practice these and other habits for better and healthier skin not only for this month but always.
