The Sioux Center Health Scholarship Open, formerly the Swinging Fore Scholars Golf Tournament, is more than just a day on the course. It's a community-driven event that raises funds to support local students and community members pursuing careers in healthcare. Hosted by the Sioux Center Health Foundation, this annual golf outing helps ensure the next generation of healthcare professionals has the support they need to succeed.
Each year, the Foundation awards scholarships of $750 to high school seniors. Immediate family members of Sioux Center Health employees also receive $750, while employees themselves are awarded $1,500. College students can earn $750 as freshmen or sophomores, and $1,500 as juniors or seniors.

FAQs
The tournament will begin with registration opening at 11:00 AM, followed by a light lunch available at 11:30 AM. A shotgun starts off play at 12:00 PM, and the day will conclude with awards and hole prizes at 5:00 PM. After the tournament, participants are invited to enjoy a meal served in the Ridge event room. Throughout the event, unique games will provide fun opportunities to enhance your score, including a special twist where men tee off from the women’s tee box and women tee off from the 250-yard mark. Here is a chance to gather an all-women’s team to play in your very own flight. We will have 1 flight just for women and 2 flights for men/mixed.
No, a full team is no required to register. Participants may choose to register a team of four for $450, or sign up individually for $112.50, in which case they will be placed on a team. Additionally, those who register as Gold or Platinum sponsors will receive a complimentary team of four as part of their sponsorship package.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email verifying your participation. As the tournament approaches, additional updates and important information will be shared through email and our social media channels, so we encourage you to keep an eye out for further communication.
Registration includes green fees, a golf cart, and a meal, along with eligibility for hole and door prizes. The event is an 18-hole tournament with a maximum capacity of 36 teams, ensuring an enjoyable and well-paced experience for all participants.
Participants are encouraged to bring their golf clubs, a positive attitude, and a strong sense of community spirit. It is also recommended to bring appropriate golf attire, comfortable footwear, sunscreen, and any personal items you may need for a day on the course. Don’t forget items such as a hat, sunglasses, and extra golf accessories like tees and gloves to ensure you are fully prepared for an enjoyable experience.
