Dr. Andersen Completes Avera 2026 Dyad Leadership Academy
LoriAnne Andersen, MD, Family Medicine physician, has successfully graduated from the Avera 2026 Dyad Leadership Academy, a program designed to strengthen leadership collaboration across the Avera Health system.
The 2026 cohort included 16 physicians and administrators who participated in four daylong sessions held between January and April. The academy provided a structured environment for participants to enhance leadership capabilities, exchange perspectives, and build professional relationships with colleagues from across the region.
The Dyad Leadership Academy focuses on strengthening partnerships between clinical and administrative leaders, equipping participants with practical tools to navigate the complexities of modern healthcare. The curriculum emphasized four primary areas, supported by Avera’s leadership competencies:
- Organizational Structure & Dynamics
- Strategic Leadership
- Efficiency of Practice
- Personal & Professional Development
Through these focus areas, participants gained insight into organizational operations, strategic decision-making, and opportunities to improve care delivery and team effectiveness.
Dr. Andersen’s completion of the program reflects an ongoing commitment to professional development and to advancing high-quality patient care.
"It was truly an honor to have the opportunity to participate in the Avera Dyad Leadership Academy,” Dr. Andersen said. “It's simply remarkable how Avera leans into its people and helps mold future leaders. Completing this leadership program has helped to deepen my own emotional intelligence and reinforced the power of shared accountability in delivery of patient care. It helped me to become a more intentional leader — fostering trust, psychological safety, and stronger relationships with both my team and my patients."
The Avera Dyad Leadership Academy continues to play a key role in developing leaders who are equipped to serve patients, teams, and communities with excellence.
Sioux Center Health CEO Cory Nelson shared, “Dr. Andersen is an excellent physician and an even stronger leader because of her willingness to keep learning. That mindset is critical for the future of healthcare. Her participation in the Avera Dyad Leadership Academy reflects the importance we place on continual leadership growth for all our physicians. When our physicians grow as leaders, our teams are stronger and our patients benefit.”
