When you're well enough to leave acute care but not quite ready to return home, our Swing Bed Program offers the perfect bridge to recovery. Designed for patients who need short-term skilled nursing, IV therapy, or rehabilitation after an illness or surgery, this program provides expert transitional care right here in our hospital — so you can heal close to home. With an average stay of one to two weeks, our goal is to help you regain the strength and independence needed to return home safely and confidently.

About Swing Bed

Our Swing Bed Program is designed to help you transition safely from hospital to home, regaining the physical and occupational function you need for everyday life. Most stays last one to two weeks, during which your physician leads your care in collaboration with a compassionate team of nurses, a nurse discharge coordinator, therapists, nursing assistants, social workers, dietitians, and other medical professionals. You'll have access to a full range of services, including:

Swing Bed offers support for a variety of recovery needs — from orthopedic patients who aren’t yet ready to manage stairs at home to those healing from a stroke who need more time to regain strength. 

Even if your acute event took place at another hospital, you can still recover close to home through our program.
