Luis Barragan
Seeing patients in Hawarden and Sioux Center
Luis Barragan, PA-C, is a bilingual advanced practice provider at Sioux Center Health. In addition to his clinic work, he provides on-site medical care to Spanish-speaking employees at Perdue, helping to ensure accessible and culturally competent healthcare for an often underserved population.
With roots in Colombian heritage, Luis is a native Spanish speaker and one of only 27 Spanish-speaking PAs currently practicing in the state of Iowa. His language skills and cultural background play a vital role in building trust with patients and improving communication in clinical settings.
Luis has a strong interest in preventive health, with a personal passion for fitness and nutrition. He frequently develops individualized wellness plans, and his approach to care emphasizes long-term lifestyle improvements. Outside of his professional responsibilities, he enjoys playing football and spending time outdoors with his wife and daughter.
Known for bringing a positive and energetic atmosphere to the clinic, Luis often integrates his love of music into daily routines, making urgent care shifts more enjoyable for both patients and staff. His commitment to high-quality care, paired with his ability to connect across cultures, makes him a valued healthcare provider in our organization and community.
