Dr. Jason Koelewyn has been with Sioux Center Health for nearly 20 years, offering full-spectrum care as a family physician and obstetrician. He treats patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors, and is known for his thoughtful, hands-on approach to medicine.

Patients often describe Dr. Koelewyn as patient, kind, and attentive, taking time to clearly explain diagnoses and treatment options. He is trusted for his thorough communication and commitment to making each person feel heard, supported, and prioritized — no matter how busy his day. He believes in whole person care, addressing physical, physiological, and spiritual needs.

In addition to his clinical work, he serves as the Cardiac Medical Director for Sioux Center Health, Team Physician for Dordt University Football, and Sioux County Medical Examiner.

Originally from California, Dr. Koelewyn is fluent in Spanish and values strong, respectful relationships with patients from all backgrounds. He enjoys participating in mission trips and being active in his church community.

Outside of medicine, he values spending time with his wife and 4 children. He’s a dedicated Dordt University fan and loves attending Defender games. He also enjoys racquetball, pickleball, gardening, woodworking, and cooking.
